AN excellent win for Newton's women's hockey team in this league match.

They outshone the opposition and apart from a short spell in the first half they dominated the match.

Newton were 2-0 up in the first half with goals from Sue Marsh and Sarah Cowan.

The second half saw many opportunities fall their way. Marsh scored another before Jeanette Ward got goal number four near full-time.

This was an excellent team effort.

Newton have only friendly games until February when the league matches resume.

This week they are at home to Mossley Hill.
