I TAKE strong exception to the letter in last week's GUARDIAN regarding vandalism being in the minority in our local parks. I suggest this anonymous person takes a walk around my local park in Knutsford Road (or any local park for that matter) and he/she will see for themselves just how rife vandalism is! You cannot turn a corner without seeing branches broken and bark stripped off trees, uprooted plants, discarded litter (usually left behind by football players and their followers) and as for broken glass, I am sick and tired of having to steer my dog away from it - twice we have had to visit the vet because of badly cut paws.  more...
