Taking the choice away from tenants

I REFER to your article on page 7 of the Guardian, February 24, especially to the remarks of the unnamed council spokesman that the judge's findings only applied to Carolan (not even a Mr). I could suggest that this spokesman comes out from behind the smokescreen he or she is trying to make - these changes to the tenancy agreement affected the whole of the 11,000 plus council tenants. Then again, at the end of the day, it was the Labour members of the committee (some of whom are up for re-election in May) who made the political decision to accept the officer's recommendations.  more...
