WHAT in Gods name is all the fuss going on about Longford? Some twenty plus years ago, I worked on the Longford estate and found it no different then than it is today. The only difference today is litter. That though is down to the residents. The older people would pick it up or sweep it up and bin it. People today simply ignore it. That's okay, but it grows. Other people notice it and cast judgement. It cost nothing to stoop down and pick it up, but it means a great deal to observers. When all said and done, first impressions count.  more...

Difficult to shop because of Park Road roadworks

I AM writing to let you know that Park Road in Great Sankey is a disgrace because of the road works. This has been going on since last November. The shops that are situated there are not as easy to get to as before. You now have to go all the way round to the end of each barrier and look at unsightly plastic orange mesh and poles, which is very uneven. I really feel sorry for the residents who have to live along Park Road.  more...
