GANGSTERS, dodgy money and mistaken identities rub shoulders in Biddulph Players' latest production.
The company has chosen Laugh I Nearly Went To Miami, a farce by Miles Tredinnick, for its second show of the current season.
The production features a cast of seven, and is being staged at Knypersley First School from March 20 to 23.
The show will be the last of the current season, with the company not staging a third production for the first time in many years due to a lack of rehearsal time.
The story revolves around a planned wedding for Tom Weals, played by Leigh Colclough, and his fiancée Alice, played by Janice Evans.
The couple are planning to get married at an Elvis Presley convention in Miami, but they are fog-bound at the airport.
Their suitcase becomes accidentally switched with one stuffed with dollar bills, whose gangster owner comes to Tom's flat to retrieve his money.
David Weatherall plays the part of Tom's younger brother Barney, and his girlfriend Muriel is played by Becky Heys.
Alice's aunt is Doris Page, police Inspector Hendy is played by Stan Sorby, and the role of gangster Frankie is taken by Robert Pope, who is also the show's producer.
Tickets are available from Murrays Travel in Biddulph or by ringing Mrs Page on 01782-513567.
Biddulph Players is looking for an injection of new blood for the group.
They are seeking people for acting parts and back stage roles including lighting and sets, and no experience is necessary.
