I WOULD just like to say a big thank you to all who were involved in the sponsored walk on Sunday. The walk was for Woolston Rovers ARLFC, raising much-needed funds following the devastating fire at its club house. We walked to Wilderspool where we were met by Wolfie and had a tour round the pitch for the younger walkers. Then we were met by the fantastic Warrington Wolves stars Gary Hulse, Mark Gleeson and Mark Hilton. We raised a fantastic amount of money from the pubs along the way, the sponsors themselves and people who stopped in the street to help. We would also like to thank all the cars who went past and hooted at us. It gave us great confidence and reminded us what we were doing this for. Special thanks to Dave, Barbara and Eric, who helped in the organisation and co-operation.  more...

Switch-on a big success

WHAT a delight the turning on of the Christmas lights was. In previous years we have been squashed, saw nothing and listened to rubbish! But this year we had a super time. The music was ideal for families with young children (and big kids too!). There was plenty of space to see with the super idea of different stages and the lights were great.
