COPPENHALL High School is looking to a bright future after appointing a new headteacher.

Dr Pam Scott has taken the position after serving as deputy head at the school for four years.

"I am extremely proud to take up the appointment and we will now continue to build on the excellent work we began a few years ago.

"The school has improved its exam results tremendously just recently and we are looking forward to year on year development both in and beyond the classroom.

"We are looking forward to being part of the new Government initiative 'Excellence in Crewe Cluster', to be launched later this month and this will provide an excellent opportunity to work with all of the Crewe schools in developing and enhancing education in the area.

"By working together, we can provide a much brighter future for all of the children and young people of Crewe."

Chair of the Governing body, Cllr Ray Stafford said: "My vision for the school is one of a place where people enjoy learning and teaching.

"I know that our new head and her staff share this vision so I invite you all aboard with passports to success."
