TRITON Hockey Club climbed to sixth in the league on Saturday after their fourth win in five matches.
Pete Mulford and Simon Cruxton were the Triton scorers at they beat Holmes Chapel 2-0 away in a hard-fought victory.
Holmes Chapel soaked up Triton pressure in the first half, and the visitors were kept out in the second by some excellent saves from the home keeper.
Triton's pressure paid off on 52 minutes when Andy Stubbs fired into the D for Mulford to slot home under the advancing keeper.
The victory was sealed 11 minutes from time when Mulford and Stubbs combined well from a penalty corner to set up Cruxton, who scored from close range.
Triton 2nds scored five for the second match running as they beat Sale 5-1.
Mark Ellershaw hit two, and the other Triton scorers were Tom Chaddock, James Warrington and Graham Whitby.
Carol Malbon saved Triton Ladies by scoring the equaliser in a 1-1 draw away at North Staffs.
Triton Ladies are at home to Walsall tomorrow at midday, followed at 1.30pm by the first team's match against Colwyn Bay.
Triton 2nds travel to Bramhall.
