JEFF Pierce held his nerve in the deciding leg to ensure that Rams Head gained a valuable 5-4 win against BRSA A in Earlestown Darts League Division Two.
He defeated Ste Bloxham in 20 darts to lift the tension and spark rapturous applause.
John Hughes, 27 darts, and Graham Kenwright, 21, had given Rams Head a perfect start by overcoming BRSA stars Ron Purnell and Arthur Critchley respectively.
BRSA then clicked into action as Keith Fishwick beat Dave Green in 24 darts and Roy Skelhorn defeated Jay Swift in 45 darts.
Youngster Ste Pierce got Rams Head back on track with a 28-darter against Ray Leather and the brilliant Kyle Newsome extended their lead to 4-2 with a 46-dart win against Billy Booth.
Ste Shaw kept BRSA's hopes alive with a 45-dart marathon against Ian McLorie and Neil Forshaw beat Rams' Ron Woods in 23 darts to level the scores and set up the exciting finale.
Fourth-placed Millstone condemned leaders Old Crow to only their second defeat of the season.
Millstone won in style thanks to the scintillating form of Phil Boyers, 16, Ian Whamond, 40, Ste Worthington, 35, captain Paul Boyers, 33 and points sealer Phil Bryan, 27.
