ALSAGER Town bounced back from two Christmas defeats with a welcome new year victory on Saturday.
Alsager went three goals up midway through the second half against Flixton, but had to hang on after conceding two goals late on.
Alsager started well in their home league fixture, putting the visitors under a great deal of early pressure.
Redgate went close on 23 minutes with a shot the Flixton keeper saved at the second attempt.
The pressure paid off six minutes later when Gregory found Ireland, and he fired into the corner of the net with a shot from 20 yards.
Chris Dick hit the post on 35 minutes with a shot from 15 yards, and Redgate saw a fine glancing header hit the post a minute before half-time.
Alsager were soon in their stride in the second half, and went further ahead five minutes into the half when Kinsey scored from close range.
They made it 3-0 on 65 minutes when the ball fell to Gregory following a corner, and he hammered a drive into the net from 20 yards.
Flixton hit back with goals from Otutu three minutes later and Jones on 75 minutes, but Alsager hung on for victory.
Alsager new signing Will Haley replaced Redgate with 10 minutes to go, and should have scored, his shot hitting the keeper's legs.
Alsager travel to Atherton Colleries tomorrow.
