Minding your language is really not so simple

JILL Yarwood (Letters, September 27) says it is her opinion that to immigrate to England you should be fluent in English. Would the same apply if an English person wished to move permanently to Spain, France of Greece? What if you moved to Wales? Should you be fluent in Welsh before you are allowed to buy a house and live there? And what about the Scottish isles? Scots Gaelic is not the easiest of languages to learn.   more...
